Research Laboratories

In collaboration with CNRS and Aix-Marseille Université, Centrale Marseille has established 7 research groups within which the majority of its lecturers focus their research.

Centrale Marseille’s laboratories contribute to Aix-Marseille Université’s scientific profile and its valorization in business and industry. They participate in the training of engineering students who can also be integrated through projects and internships.

Research Federations

They bring together a number of research groups. Their goal is to share resources (doctoral programmes, methods for calculation, scientific documentation) and applications for funding from local authorities and encourage scientific initiatives (...).

Research federations and co-supervisionFédération des Sciences chimiques de Marseille (FR 1739)

The objective is to encourage collectively the development of a highly visible pole of scientific research at the national and international level, in which the many facets of modern chemistry are represented in synergy with research laboratories at the campuses of Saint Jérôme, Luminy, Timone, GLM CNRS and Arbois, and with valorization structures such as the competitivity poles of Eurobiomed, PASS, risques, Capénergie and Institut Carnot - STAR.

This Federation’s activities focus on two main themes:

  • management of shared platforms that correspond to the needs of the research community,
  • participation in the site with a programme of weekly conferences, seminars and thematic study days and funding for local scientific events.
Fédération Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc (Mecanics - Energetic) de Marseille (FR 3515)

The Fédération Fabri de Peiresc seeks to develop more and more collaboration amongst its partners’ research groups in their desire to carry out shared and transversal research in the fields of mechanics and energy and test their application to the widest range of circumstances. This has led to bringing together research groups at the Château-Gombert Technopole by setting up LMA on campus. Obviously, collaboration by these groups already exists, through their involvement in the Doctoral School in ‘Sciences for Engineers: Mechanics, Physics, Micro- and Nanoelectronics’ and through regional projects. Researchers in these laboratories are mostly located at the Château-Gombert Technopole, north of Marseilles, apart from LMA which will soon move to the campus.
